Saturday, August 12, Noon to 6:00 PM

Location:

Bates Beach, Carpinteria, CA

Another sunny beach event! To get our beach back it is important that we keep showing up to get the non-nudists who come to the beach to see they have nothing to fear from us, and that it is okay for us to claim the unused western end of the beach.

The Santa Barbara nudity law remains in effect. Persons removing their swimsuit do so at their own risk. Go as bare as you dare! Your decision, your choice!

Bring your own picnic supplies, chairs, bathing suits and sunscreen and make a day of it. Afterwards we will all go into Carpinteria to eat and pay for our meals with $2 bills!

Call us at (818) 225-2273 or RSVP to scna@socalnaturist.org.

The Naturist Society Western Gathering

This scheduled event is in the past.

Thursday, August 17, 9:00 AM to Sunday, August 20, 4:00 PM

Naturism Does a Body Good! Join fellow members of The Naturist Society at their annual Western Gathering.

Location:

Sun Meadow Resort, Idaho

The four days are full of fun, interesting workshops and events being sponsored by naturist leaders and clubs from all over the Western United States. Anyone who has gone to a Gathering before knows it is a great time to see old friends from other nudist groups (and to make new ones!). It’s a great way to connect with others, and share experiences and advice all can use to enjoy naturism even more.

The Naturist Society has announced that this may well be the last Western Gathering, limiting future events to Florida, the Eastern US, and Canada. Great attendance may help change their minds, so you participation is greatly encouraged.

SCNA usually participates at this four-day event, hosting several fun events and several workshops. Sun Meadows Resort is one of the gems of the Pacific Northwest region and worth a trip whether you go for the convention or not. Call them directly at (208) 686-8686 for accommodations, rates, and more info.

Discounted Grounds Fees are available for those who register for the Gathering with TNS.

We encourage those of you who will be attending to open your vehicles to carpooling. It’s also a great way to pass the time while traveling to Idaho. Let us know if you’re planning on going and can offer a ride.

Zorthian Pool Party and Talent Show

This scheduled event is in the past.

Saturday, August 26, Noon to 7:00 PM

Our annual pool party at the eclectic art-filled ranch in the foothills of Altadena

Location:

Altadena

Cost:

Members and Non-Members: $30/person, Children under 18: No Charge

The famous Zorthian Ranch is a 48-acre mountainside artists' enclave in the hills above Altadena and Pasadena, which has been used for fashion shoots, movie locations, and has been the site of the annual LA Folk Festival in years past. The Ranch was the life work of the late Jirayr Zorthian (1911-2004), who was considered a significant artist of the 20th century and whose paintings and sculptures adorn federal buildings, from the Pentagon to Post Offices around the country. The ranch displays many of his works, and it has a conference center, an outdoor stage, and a large swimming pool that overlooks the city.

With faith that the bridge and road will be passable, we have again rented the property for the afternoon. We welcome all of our great friends from the other naturist clubs in the region to enjoy the day with us.

This is always a great experience for SCNA members and guests to enjoy! For more information about the Ranch, see their web site at: www.zorthianranch.com

GOT TALENT?

The Zorthian Bacchus Stage has now seen two fun SCNA talent shows, so we are going to go for a third! Please let us know if you would like to perform as soon as possible so we can work you into the show!

SCNA will provide soda and water. Please bring a pot luck dish to share.

Important! We need the full name of any NON-SCNA member at least 48 hours in advance in order to verify membership with the other clubs and/or to perform our usual background checks. NON-SCNA members will also be required to secure their RSVP’s with payment via PayPal, check, or Money Order, 48 hours prior to the event.

PLEASE RSVP to SCNA at (818) 225-2273 or via email to scna@socalnaturist.org. About five days before the event specific directions will be sent to those who RSVP.
