Nude Hike to Deep Creek

This scheduled event is in the past.

Saturday, September 10, 10:30 AM to Sunday, September 11, 6:00 PM

Location:

Deep Creek Hot Springs, San Bernardino Mountains

Cost:

$10 for overnight camping per person, $5 per person for daytime parking. Pay at the Bowen Ranch entrance, exact change in envelope with license number, if no one there to collect your fees

If you like a healthier alternative to Oktoberfest, we recommend some outdoor activity this weekend.

Join up with members of NitOC and the Camping Bares who will hike down to beautiful Deep Creek Hot Springs on Saturday morning. You are responsible for your own equipment, food and drink to pack in (and to pack out any leftovers!).

Some may elect to camp overnight and return to the springs on Sunday. Be aware that the annual SCNA Members Appreciation party is scheduled for that Sunday. We will hike in at around 10:00AM Saturday. After a great day at the springs we will hike out and campers may set up tent camping next to the cars. There is no tenting allowed near the springs. After breaking camp on Sunday, those who wish will hike back down to the Springs again.

Pay at the Bowen Ranch entrance, exact change in envelope with license number if no one is there to collect your fees.

Note: The dirt road from the gate to the parking lot is in poor condition. A truck, pickup or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but whatever you drive, be careful.

RSVP early to (818) 225-2273 so we can get a head count and arrange for car-pooling.

Oktoberfest In September Party

This scheduled event is in the past.

Location:

Westchester (near LAX)

Cost:

Members: $10, Non-Members: $20,
First-Time Guests: $15, Ages 18-25: $5,
Children under 18: Free

The Mayor of Munich doesn't tap the first keg of Oktoberfest until September 17, but we decided to celebrate die Wiesn a bit earlier! We will not have draft at €10.70 per liter, but we will probably have no Oom-Pah band either.

This is a true pot luck, which means members and guests are responsible for the food, so please bring something to share with about 8 people (main dish, side dish, dessert). In keeping with the party theme, try to bring a German-themed dish! Suggestions include any kind of German cold cuts, (Bierwurst, bockwurst, blutwurst, liverwurst), Black Forest ham, small sandwich rolls (brotchen), various cheeses, sauerkraut, potato salad, potato pancakes, apple strudel, black forest cake, etc. Frankfurters, bratwurst, knackwurst, or any other cooked sausages need to be cooked prior as the kitchen will not be available for preparation.

Of course if you bring beer and imbibe, please drink responsibly!

SCNA will provide soft drinks and water.

Contact SCNA to RSVP. Club Message Center: (818) 225-2273.
