Location: Downton Los Angeles. Participation Fee: FREE!
This is an SCNA-supported event. Anyone who’s interested may wish to participate in an 18-mile ride through Los Angeles where clothing is optional and you can ride “as bare as you dare.”
The ride is divided this year into two parts for those who only want to ride part of the distance.
The first loop (approx. 12 miles) will go along the LA River, up through Silverlake, and back downtown along Sunset Blvd. The second loop (approx. 6 miles) will go through downtown LA past some classic landmarks. There will be a lunch break in between the two rides.
At the staging area, both a body-painting booth and food trucks will be available. The ride will begin at about 10 am, so don’t be late! Decorate yourself and your bike with signs or sayings
reflecting the environmental aspect of the human-powered transportation that we’re bringing attention to.
Don’t forget to bring several bottles of water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and optionally a towel to sit on the bike seat. Cameras are also allowed, but it is polite to ask permission before taking someone’s picture. The starting location will be emailed a few days before the event to those who sign up at www.facebook.com/WNBRLA.
