SCNA MONTHLY MEET-UPS

Each month, SCNA hosts a monthly dinner and discussion group at different pizza parlors or restaurants around the greater Los Angeles area. This is a way to introduce new people to naturism and to dispel mistaken impressions that non-nudists may have about us. Anyone with a sincere interest in discussing naturist issues is welcome. These classes are especially useful for people who suffer from low self-esteem and poor body image because it is done in a safe, nurturing environment. But it is open to anyone who wishes to discover an entirely new way of looking at your own body, spiritually and physically.

Saturday, July 6, NOON - 7 PM
BATES BEACH RALLY
LOCATION: SANTA BARBARA/VENTURA COUNTY LINE

For the past 10 years, the more-remote northern half of this beach is the best kept secret in the south county. We want to bring back the clothing-optional fun that used to be common there. If you agree, come on down to Bates and show your support! Bring your own picnic supplies, chairs, bathing suits and sunscreen and make a day of it. If enough people show up, we may even break out a volleyball and net!

Although we are working with the county to change its nudity ordinance, that law is still in effect at this beach at this time. Wear less than a bathing suit at your own risk. Most of us will wear the minimum required, which means the skimpiest bathing suit you have. Some women tell me they will wear pasties on their nipples or even band-aids, as they did at the Venice Beach Top-free protest last summer. The further down the beach you sit, the lower the risk of a ticket.

At the end of the day, many of us will drive into Carpinteria to buy dinner and pay with $2 bills (we will provide them) to demonstrate the purchasing power of the local nudists!

SKINNY-DIP RECORD!
At precisely 1PM local time nudists all over North America from Canada to Mexico will skinny-dip simultaneously in nudist club swimming pools and on beaches in order to set a new record of over 13,500. To participate you MUST be in the pool or jacuzzi at exactly 1PM so we can get an official count to submit - you CAN'T be late! Plan to arrive 30 minutes early so you can register for the event.

ANNUAL SCNA GENERAL MEMBERS MEETING
AND ELECTION OF SCNA OFFICERS
After the Skinny-Dip Record is set, members will retire to a corner of the backyard and elect 7 new members of our SCNA Board of Directors to serve for the next 12 months. We do this every year and we encourage everyone to participate. This is a volunteer organizations and we are only as good as those who help out! LOST AND FOUND AUCTION!
We will auction off all items left behind at our parties during the previous year. This means towels, folding chairs, and some clothing.

There will also be a 50-50 cash raffle!

SCNA will provide soft drinks/water, and snacks (chips & dip). Please bring a potluck side dish to share.

Oh yes, and there is a big pool, jacuzzi and a lawn for sunning. Who could want more?

Members have been asking us to do this for several years - we finally located an Art Gallery that will let us hold a private showing of its unique art exhibition! We don't want to tell you where it is just yet as the Gallery wants us to restrict access to just SCNA members and their invited guest. Nobody wants a mob of gawkers more interested in looking at US than in the exhibit.

SCNA will provide wine & cheese snacks. No side dishes, please.

OLYMPIAN PICNIC AT G.E.
Entrance Fee if you are on the pre-list: $15 +$8 to the Olympians
Location: Glen Eden Sun Club, Corona

The Olympian Club has invited any SCNA members who will be at Glen Eden on Saturday, 7/27, to join them for their annual picnic at the Lucas Lawn (above the spa) at 3 PM. They will have their traditional bean bag baseball game (the SCNA team came back last year and trounced them, after getting our butts kicked the year before).

The Olympians will be providing hamburgers and hot dogs, drinks, and cake for dessert. The cost to join them for their picnic is $8.00 per person.

NUDE BOWLING!
$ 20.00/PERSON (MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE)

You asked for it (for years!), so you got it...again!

SCNA is hosting another of our semi-annual Nude Bowling events. We have rented out the entire alley for the event and it has complete privacy from the street. There will be nobody there but us for these 3 hours.

We have opened up this event to all our local clubs such as YNA, AANFA, NitOC, and the Olympian club to be sure we can get enough to cover our deposit.

The $20 required to attend (even if you don’t bowl), which is cheaper than if you went to a clothed bowling event and rented shows, ate, etc. The cost includes shoes.

This will be a pot luck event, with the bowling alley providing water, soft drinks, and beer and wine for a nominal sum. They have no kitchen or refrigerator available so all food you bring must be prepared in advance (bring a cooler if your food must be kept chilled.)

We will have prizes for best scores. More information and directions as we get closer to the event.

Important! We need a head count of who is coming as the have to limit the number of people to 50. We need the full name of any non-SCNA member at least 36 hours in advance as we have to check them theough the Megan's Law and FBI sexual predator databases.
