SCNA MONTHLY MEET-UPS

Each month, SCNA hosts a monthly (clothed) dinner and discussion group at different public restaurants around the greater Los Angeles area. This is a way to introduce new people to naturism and to dispel mistaken impressions that non-nudists may have about us. This meeting is also a required pre-requisite before we can invite you to one of our clothing-optional parties. Anyone with a sincere interest in discussing naturist issues is welcome. Once a year, SCNA does the cooking as our thank you for all your support the rest of the year. Our crack team of cooks will be BBQ-ing and the club will also provide the soft drinks and water.

All you need to bring is a pot luck side dish or dessert, a folding chair, and a towel to sit on. There is a swimming pool and a large deck for sunning!

There also will be a raffle for some great prizes!

Nude Hike/Camping Trip to Deep Creek
Location: Bowen Ranch, San Bernardino Mountains
Gate Fee: $5 Per Person Per Day, $10 Camping

SCNA is joining the Camping Bares and NitOC in a joint event at Deep Creek Hot Springs. You are responsible for your own camping equipment, food and drink to pack in (and to pack out any leftovers!).

You may go for the hike on Saturday or Sunday only, or stay overnight along with perhaps 20 other nudists (the number we usually average on these trips). We will hike in at around 10:30AM Saturday. After a great day at the springs we will hike out and set up tent camping next to our cars. There is no tenting allowed near the springs. After breaking camp on Sunday, those who wish will hike back down to the Springs again.

Pay at the Bowen Ranch entrance, exact change in envelope with license number if no one is there to collect your fees.

Note: The dirt road from the gate to the parking lot is in poor condition. A truck, pickup or 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended, but whatever you drive, be careful.

Saturday June 27, NOON – 5PM
WORLD NAKED BIKE RIDE DAY
GLOBAL PROTEST AGAINST FOSSIL FUELS
& TO PROMOTE BIKE SAFETY IN LOS ANGELES
Location: Downton Los Angeles

This is an SCNA-supported event. Members may wish to participate in a 10-mile ride through Los Angeles where clothing is optional. A body-painting booth will be available for those who wish to adorn their bodies with signs, slogans, or decorations. Bike rentals and food trucks will be available this year.

The ride will begin at about 2:00 PM.

The goal is to get the message out in a fun way that will bring smiles to un-prepared onlookers as we streak by – so smile back, wave, and spread the message!

Don’t forget to bring several bottles of water, sunscreen, sun glasses, a hat, and optionally a towel to sit on the bike seat. Cameras are also allowed, but it is polite to ask permission before taking someone’s picture.

The exact starting location will be emailed a few days before the event only to those who sign up.

CARPINTERIA INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE and CAR SHOW
Location: Carpinteria, CA
No Fee to Participate but Bring Extra Cash for Food and Festival Souvenirs!

Those who aren’t going to the bike ride are invited to join the SCNA and Friends of Bates Beach who have been invited to participate in the annual car parade down Linden Avenue in the heart of Carpinteria, where four lucky members can sit inside and wave to the crowd. This is the fourth time a nude advocacy group has been allowed in the parade, thanks to our many years of service as members of the Chamber of Commerce there.

Come enjoy the car show, the booths and performances during the day, buy food and souvenirs using $2 bills (the official nudist currency in town) and then cheer us on as you watch the SCNA/FOBB car in the parade from the sidewalk. (The parade starts at 5PM.)

SCNA MEMBERS: $15/person (pay to GE directly)

This event is open to all SCNA members who are not also members of GE through their Commuter Membership program (see ad at right), since those people can go to GE at any time and pay just a $13 gate fee.

Travel Day is a monthly event open on a specific Saturday to all non-landed travel club members in Southern California. You MUST show your SCNA membership card at the GE registration office and pay $15 to gain admittance.

Join with members of other travel (non-landed) clubs and enjoy the pool, volleyball, tennis, restaurant, etc., for the entire day! Glen Eden's three-visit restriction and other admittance rules may apply. Contact Glen Eden at (818) 225-2273 for current information.
