PHOTO ALBUM OF OUR 15-DAY “NUDE CRUISE” TO HAWAII
By Walt and Mindy Stephens
03/2010 - Over 3,000 nudists from all over the country helped Bare Necessities celebrate its 20th year in business last month by enjoying a 15-day cruise from San Diego to Hawaii.
The Austin-based nudist travel company chartered the Celebrity’s Constellation, an 11-deck, 965-foot long ship with several restaurants, an aqua spa, and an Internet café (although web access was spotty at times).
During the March 13-28 voyage, the ship visited 4 ports of call in Hawaii including Lahaina, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Kona, Hawaii; and Hilo, Hawaii. There was also an evening sail by Mount Kilauea. The ship also stopped at Ensenada before returning to San Diego.
Onshore excursions were made to beaches where the 2000+ nudist passengers on the cruise were able to remain nude on shore to soak up the sun, sand, and surf.
Among the themed events were a Pirates of the Caribbean dinner and a St. Patrick’s costume dance.
As the cruise ended just a day before our printing deadline, we were unable to receive any first-hand stories in time for this newsletter. We will have a follow-up report from some those SCNA members who participated in next month’s issue.
